Department Manager for the Café

Biltema markets more than 19,000 items. Our vision is to make it financially easier for people to own a car, boat, home, tools, and high-quality leisure items, thereby creating a richer leisure time for everyone. Currently, Biltema has a total of 161 stores in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland, of which 60 are located in Sweden. Biltema is a strong brand in an exciting expansion, planning to open around 50 new stores in the Nordic region in the coming years.

About the Position

As the Department Manager for the café, you will be responsible for the daily operations, coordinating the café's activities, and ensuring that the business continuously develops and improves. You will ensure weekly and daily planning for the café based on preparation, orders, and customer flow, and actively work on optimized store filling and upselling. The role includes ensuring that the department adheres to order and cleanliness, that the assortment follows Biltema's guidelines and goals, and that the café is an inviting environment for our customers.

You will coach your colleagues in optimal customer service and ensure, with the help of training, guidance, instructions, and follow-up work, that the employees in the department possess the right skills. As the Department Manager, you will also manage the café's inventories, ensure that food safety procedures are followed, and be responsible for ensuring that the work environment in the café complies with applicable laws, agreements, and routines.

About You

To thrive in this role, you likely have several years of experience in retail or the restaurant industry, have a genuine interest in the café, and feel ready for a new challenge.

As a person, you enjoy taking initiative, have a knack for sales and providing service – for you, it is a given to go the extra mile to create results. You also have an eye for creating selling and inviting environments and find it enjoyable to face challenges in the form of new or temporary tasks.

It is important that you have an interest in the café operations you will be responsible for, as this is a prerequisite for success in your role. Since you will have several employees to assist you as the Department Manager, it is essential that you can communicate the goals and the path to achieve them. Personal suitability will be highly valued.
